I've done a study of 13 different LDS singles dating sites (without subscribing) and this is my list of the top 10 LDS singles services. Most of these sites have a lot of the same basic features, such as free services, profile posting/browsing, and chat, but I've detailed which sites have additional features that LDS singles might be looking for. LDS Singles Connection where my husband and I met merged with LDSMingle. This LDS singles site has a really cool feature where you take a personality test, called The Color Code. Your color type is attached to your profile and you can then browse through other profiles by their color to find ones that match your personality type. I read "The Color Code" years ago and it's a wonderful system on personality assessment that I still use today. Full membership cost: $11.99/month This LDS singles site made it to position 3 because of two unique features. The SureMatch Compatibility Profile, which "asks over 500 questions relating to 21 dimensions of relationship compatibility" and describes your relationship's strengths and weaknesses as well as other things. The other feature is a Marriage Promise Learning course which can help improve your relationship skills. There is a 30 day free trial of this LDS singles site. Cost: $24.95/month (additional months lower the price) This LDS singles site is the only one (at least as far as I could tell from my searching) that has live video chat where you only need a web camera and to sign up with this LDS singles service. There were some things on this site that I didn't like, such as an advertisement for botox and an image of a girl wearing an immodest top, but the live video feature was good enough to put it at spot 4. Cost: $4.95/month (more months lower the price) This LDS singles service has the basic features but the one thing that caught my eye was the trips, travels and cruises feature. What a fun way to get to know other LDS singles from around the world! If you can afford it, this would be a great experience to see historic church sites while making new friends. This LDS single site also has some nice articles on dating and relationships. Full Membership Cost: $11.95/month (additional months lower the price) At first I wasn't sure about this LDS Singles site but the main page has a cool feature for browsing through profile photos that was very catchy. The site seems to have the general features and a cool security program called "friendly witness system" where you have a friend or two vouch for you and who are available to answer questions. It's a great idea to help LDS singles have a safe dating experience. You can also earn points for use in the site's store. Full Membership Cost: $9.95/month Another basic LDS singles service although this one has a personality test that "conforms to the Myers Briggs format" which then lets you search profiles by personality type. This site also has an advanced subscription account which allows you to send messages and if the recipient is not a paying member they will still be able to read your message because you're an advanced member. Cost: Ranges from $4/month to $40/year (specific details were not listed so you'll have to subscribe to find out) I actually found this LDS singles service a bit unprofessional but other than that it has all the basic features, such as chat, compatibility matching, polls, forum, news, articles, calendar, interest groups, etc. This site also lets your friends leave info about you on your profile. This site has a page that compares it's services with other LDS single sites which is outdated and inaccurate. Full Membership Cost: $4.97/month (additional months lower the price and new members receive a discount) This LDS singles online service is only open to LDS Singles between the ages of 18 and 39. This site also has a roommate and apartment finder feature which might be useful if you're looking for either of those things. There's a list of LDS single humor, but one off-site link I tried went to a naughty site (I'm sure it was an old link), so beware. Full Membership Cost: Site says "less than $0.00/month" (so you'll have to subscribe to this LDS dating site to find out if it's actually free) This is the last site on my list of top 10 LDS singles services online because I could hardly find any useful information without becoming a member, which is a lousy way to run a business. The only thing I liked about this site was the ability to add video/audio messages to a profile. Cost: $19.95/month (If you pay within 10 minutes of joining you get a $10 discount. More months = more discounts. I had to create a test account to find the pricing on this LDS dating site. What a pain!) |
