Guide Picks - Top 10 Christmas Videos
Frosty, Santa and Rudolph are all great fun but here's a list of Christmas videos that celebrate the true meaning of the season.

1) Luke II
This short video presentation, produced by the Church, beautifully portrays the account of the birth of Jesus Christ as recorded in the second chapter of Luke. It's definitely one of my favorites and worth the small price.

2) The Little Drummer Boy
This classic is one of the few animated videos that portrays the birth of Jesus Christ in a meaningful and touching way. Follow the life of Aaron, a lonely little boy who hates all people. His life is changed forever when he visits a manger in Bethlehem and discovers the greatest gift of all--love.

3) The Fourth Wiseman
Two thousand years ago, a wealthy Persian physician divested himself of all material goods to prepare for a journey to seek the new Messiah. The story of his sojourn makes for moving family entertainment. Martin Sheen, Alan Arkin, Eileen Brennan, Ralph Bellamy star. 72 min.

4) The Small One
The animated story of a young boy, outside of Nazareth, who must part with his best friend, a donkey named Small One. He brings it to market, but no one is need of a "scrawny donkey." Small One is ready to sacrifice his life to a tanner when a gentle man offers to buy him for his blessed wife. A Disney movie directed by Don Bluth. Hard to find but worth it if you can. 25 minutes.

5) Mr. Krueger's Christmas
This is the story of a lonely janitor at Christmas time and how his life is brightened by the visit of Christmas carolers. Originally produced by the Church in 1980 as a television program starring James Stewart and featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. 30 minutes. An LDS classic.

7) The Christmas Box
In this heartwarming Christmas tale, a young family become caretakers for a wealthy widow. While the husband's quirky, work-obsessed personality begins to take its toll on both his wife and their employer, through a series of dreams he comes to discover secrets leading him to believe that they were all meant to be together.

8) A Charlie Brown Christmas
This Peanuts' special finds Charlie Brown nurturing the thinnest, scraggliest Christmas tree ever. At first the gang makes fun of Charlie for choosing such an ugly tree for the holiday but Linus saves the day in a touching Luke II scene that reminds us all of the true meaning of Christmas.

9) A Christmas Carol
How many times have we heard Elder Thomas S. Monson quote this classic? Ebeneezer Scrooge (Alastair Sim) contentedly meanders through his life as a cruel miser until one fateful Christmas Eve when he is visited by three ghosts. Many critics widely consider this the definitive film version of Charles Dickens' cherished novel.

10) Christmas Mission
The true mission of Christmas is portrayed in this story of two elders and their search for harmony and success. Each struggles and both discover that things are not always as they appear. Eventually it seems the very star of Bethlehem illuminates the way to genuine peace and joy. Starring Corbin Allred of ABC's "Teen Angel" and Chris Bentley. Music by Kurt Bestor.
