By Melanie Cooper

Make this cake to go along with the "Noah and Keeping Promises" lesson. I baked the cake before family home evening and then let the children decorate and eat it for the activity.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 can vanilla frosting
  • food coloring
  • Preparation:

    1. Mix cake batter according to directions on box.
    2. Pour batter into three seperate bowls.
    3. Use 6-8 drops of food coloring to color batter in each bowl.
    4. Pour one bowl of colored batter into greased bundt pan.
    5. Spoon next bowl of colored batter over the top of first.
    6. Repeat with remaining batter.
    7. Bake according to box instructions.
    8. Once cake is done, let it cool and cut it in half to create two rainbows.
    9. Color the frosting the same way you colored the cake batter.
    10. Frost cake like a rainbow.

The cake will look like a rainbow on the outside and when you cut it, you'll see rainbow colors on the inside. My children really enjoyed this activity.
