LDS Primary Singing Time Idea - Saturday
A clever way to teach the LDS Primary song, Saturday.

By , About.com Guide

Preparation: Take eight small paper bags and write one letter from the word, "SATURDAY" on each bag. Gather the following items and put them in the corresponding bag:
  • S = Polish/cleaner and a rag
  • A = A bag (small or plastic ones work great) with the label of any local store on the front
  • T = A sign that says, "Monday"
  • U = A lint brush or something else to go with "brush our clothes"
  • R = Shoe polish/brush and a rag, if you don't have this a small pair of shoes will work
  • D = Note that says, "Get the Work Done Day"
  • A = Nail clippers
  • Y = Shampoo
Directions: Each of the above items goes with a part of the song, and are placed in the order they appear. Place the bags in front of the children so the word, "Saturday" is mixed up. Have them try to guess what the letters spell, but tell them they have to raise their hand when they think they know what it is. Have them come up one at a time to pick the first letter of the word (S) and show what's in the bag. Go through all the letters in order from S to Y. Then have them learn the song.

Note: You can give them a hint by having the pianist play part or all of the song.
