Poll: Do You Have a Testimony of Home/Visiting Teaching?

Follow me on:

I was pondering my experiences with visiting teaching and thought about the first time I started to develop a testimony of the Lord's visiting teaching program. Unfortunately during my time at college I didn't fulfill my call as a visiting teacher, I can't remember if I even did it once.

After college and being in a singles ward for awhile, I felt bad about not being a dedicated visiting teacher, so I made a goal to do my visiting teaching. In doing so I ended up becoming friends with the sisters I visited, as well as the sister who was my visiting teaching companion. I was surprised, yet pleased, at this result of doing my visiting teaching.

This experience was just the beginning of my testimony of visiting teaching, and although small at the time, it has greatly increased over the years as I've seen the endless blessings that have come to myself and others through the power of service.

I have been greatly blessed by serving and being served by the other women around me, as well as by the men who have been my home teachers. I know that the Lord's home teaching and visiting teaching programs are there to bless all of us as we actively serve our brothers and sisters.

I can’t recall when I started visiting teaching, but like Rachel I enjoy getting to know my sisters better and becoming friends with them as well as my companions.
