Gift Letters for the Savior

Tuesday December 9, 2008
During the Christmas season we sometimes get wrapped up in the giving and getting of gifts and all too easily forget the real meaning of Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ. If our Savior was going to visit us on Christmas day what gift would you give Him? What gifts would you give Christ this year? One great idea is to think of one or two gifts you would give the Savior and then write about them in a letter. Put the letter in an envelope and seal it. Keep the gift letter until next year and open it on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Read over your gifts and then write a new letter with new gifts to give the Savior to celebrate His birth. If you're not sure what gift you could give review my list of top 10 spiritual gifts to give the Savior to help you decide. As we focus on the spirit of giving of ourselves we will feel the love of our Savior more abundantly.

An alternate idea is to write your gifts in a journal, and then monitor your progress throughout the year. When Christmas comes again you will be able to more accurately review your life and the gifts you've given to the Savior.
