What I Believed Before I Converted
As a younger man, I did not believe in God, I believed in everything else but God. I messed around with other religions/ belief systems, but I did not believe in God.
Years had gone by. Time and experience had taught me that Heavenly Father exists and loves me. I began to go to many Churches. Many of them were nice Churches, but I had some difficulty in some of the doctrines. I then discovered the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. What a blessing it has been.
How I Knew the Church Was True
I began reading the scriptures. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to Heavenly Father to reveal the truth to me. I prayed and I pondered. I contacted the Missionaries who assisted me in my search. I researched and read some more. Then I finally came to a realization that The Book of Mormon was true, that the gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored. On April the 19th, 2009, I was baptized. I now look at the world in a whole new way. All is well.
Advice
- If I were to give advice it would be to contact the Church for a free copy of the Book of Mormon. Read it, ponder what it says. Then go in earnest prayer and ask Heavenly Father if it is true.
- My wife did not understand all of it at first. She is now very accepting of my faith and we often have the missionaries over. She enjoys meeting people from the Church and has actually gone with me to Church a couple of times now. I recently participated in the Baptism of my nephew. I am truly blessed.
