Guide Review - Simply Catan Family Game
I've played a few different versions including Settlers of Zarahemla (LDS version) and quite enjoy the strategy involved. It's a bit more challenging with more players, but that's part of the fun. This version by SimplyFun is great for beginners to help them get the basics and then move on to the more advanced rules when they're ready. Unlike Settlers of Zarahemla the SimplyFun version, Simply Catan, doesn't come with a victory point counter or any explanation of how to keep track of victory points which I feel is important as you have to get 7 (in the basic version and 10 in the advanced version) to win. Of course you can just get a paper and pen to keep track of how many victory points each player has, which is what we do, but it would have been nice if this detail had been explained somewhere in the rules. Other than that Simply Catan does a good job of teaching this great family game in a Simple and Fun way.
