Question: What is Modern Revelation?
Answer: Modern revelation means that God is revealing to mankind knowledge, truth, and His will in these days. Revelation may come in the form of visions, dreams, angelic visitations, and other inspiration which is received through the power of the Holy Ghost. Revelation recorded in writing is called scripture.
Revelation from God comes to mankind both individually and as a group. When God reveals truth and His commandments to the world he does so through His living prophets and apostles. Only the current prophet (the president of the church) has the authority to receive revelation for the entire church, but each individual may receive personal revelation for themselves and those for whom they are responsible.
