There are a lot of LDS articles and resources on this site that were written by Melanie Cooper and unless you've been visiting the site for more than 5 years you probably don't know who that is. So I put together this profile of Melanie Cooper.
Previous About LDS Guide:
Melanie Cooper was the previous and first About LDS Guide. She was the guide from 1997 until June 2002. After five years of being the About LDS Guide her life became thoroughly busy (when her family moved to a farm, they had their fifth child, and she was called into the Relief Society presidency!) so she chose to step down. When Melanie left she gave me, Rachel Woods the current About LDS Guide, all of her articles and resources, many of which are on the site.
Her Experience:
Melanie is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a stay-at-home mom of 5 children. She joined the LDS Church in 1986 and has since held various teaching positions in the Primary, Relief Society, Young Women and Sunday School auxiliaries of the LDS Church.
Her Education:
Melanie attended the University of New Hampshire for one year before getting married in the Salt Lake Temple (1990) and continues to hold a current temple recommend. She strives to further her education by enrolling in online college courses via the Internet.
Her Goal for the Site:
When Melanie was the About LDS Guide her goal for the site was, "to provide faith promoting information useful to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I hope to also be a resource for those who are curious about our faith."
Many Thanks:
to Melanie for a job well done and for letting us continue to read and use her LDS articles and other content on the site!
