I recently purchased this book on a whim while shopping at my local LDS bookstore. I knew nothing about it but since it was reasonably priced, attractive and authored by the Prophet, I figured I couldn't go wrong. I was right. This is one of the best purchases I've made all year.

The book is nicely bound with a padded cover and gold and silver color scheme. Each page is dated at the top (i.e. October 2) and contains a new topic with corresponding scripture and quote by Gordon B. Hinckley for each day of the year (leap day not included). You'll find counsel and wisdom on a multitude of topics including temples, faith, prayer, debt, morality, charity, tithing and many more. The pages are also illustrated with scenes from nature and offer a sense of serenity and peace.

My only concern is that, because of it's small pocket size the text may be too small to read for those with failing eyesight. I'd love to see this book offered in two sizes, the current pocket size and a large print version.

Stand A Little Taller is the perfect accompianment to your own daily scripture study and can also be used as short family devotionals.
