While attending my Sons graduation the first night of our trip we attended the Drill instructors dinner. Before which the Marines are marched over to the families and after a few drills and a song, they are officially released to their family's.
My family crowed close to the rope which holds back anxious loved ones until the final release. Then the call was given and everyone came scrambling as if they were at a (moon light sale), It was chaos everywhere!
Everyone calling out names and arms out stretched to greet their sons!
Drill instructors were standing erect in the background watching all the new recruits as a reminder that they still belong to them until graduation day.
We caught sight of Justin amongst the hundreds of young, beautiful men! That looked just like him. His eye seem to sigh as he found us. I wrapped my arms around him and felt him just melt in my arms for what seem to be a long time, as if to say (you don't know what "Hell" I've been through).
There were 6 of us in all, myself, my husband, Justin's three sisters, and his girlfriend. They were all in line waiting for the long anticipated hug.
He went one by one to his family first, then saved the last one for his girl friend Monique. As I was watching his face while he kissed his girl, the noise had settled down, the crowd had dispersed, and I heard crying in the background and soon learned it was coming from my daughter Natalie. I smiled and thought Oh! Tears of joy, and leaned over and told her it's OK! your brother is here now, she said No! Im not crying about him.
She then pointed to a young man in the background wandering around looking everywhere for his family, but they were not to be found!
Then there was another one I saw "blinking" his eyes and looking, really straining to see if his loved ones were coming down the road a ways, or if somehow he just didn't see them, and looking harder would help him spot them.
