Preparation: Create a monthly newsletter using this trifold as a template. PDF (Small file) Publisher (over 1 meg). Have enough copies for each child in your Primary including those that are less active.

Directions: Each month choose a child from an inactive or less active family both in junior and senior primary (if you have both) to be the spotlight child. Once you have spotlighted all the less active children you can focus on those that are active. Ask the parents for permission to put their child in your Primary newsletter and find out some cool facts about each child. Then deliver or mail copies to all the children that do not attend primary. Give copies out at church for those that do attend.

Notes:

  • Make sure you know the birthdays for all the children in your primary including those that are less active.
  • This idea is a great way to help both the children and parents of less active families know that you really do care about them. Doing personal visits would become easier as a result.
  • You can find lots of great LDS clipart and puzzle ideas for your newsletters on this site.
