Here are the basic guidelines to insure quality lessons for everyone:

1. Choose any Lesson that would be good for family night. Each lesson should include:

  • story with visual aids
  • handouts
  • game or activity of some kind

Copy all parts onto cardstock and color them. Lamination may be time consuming and a little costly but it is a must to insure good quality and durability.

2. Please type up a lesson outline, explaining suggested order of lesson activities, and adaptations that may be used for the future with older children. When the group members are established the group leader should send out a copy of the names and ages of the kids so each participant can try to gear the materials to the approximate ages. (This is also useful if you choose to personalize any of the handouts or charts you may make.)

3. Try to have a scripture reference poster, treat suggestions, and song suggestions with every lesson.

4. Please include one set of black and white originals to the lesson items so that they may be reproduced should pieces get lost or destroyed.

5. Everything should be bagged in a 2 gallon Zip-Lock bag with the lesson title and your name and phone number on the front in permanent marker, in case anyone has any questions.

When you choose your lesson topic please let the group leader know so that you don't get duplicates!
Remember, the goal is to have one COMPLETED lesson for every member that is high quality and fun.
