The Bottom Line

The full title of this book is, Putting on the Armor of God: How to Win Your Battles with Satan. And it does just that. This book exposes Satan's masterful disguises that blind and fool us into believing his lies. It explains how church teachings can protect and defend us in this real war that each of us is involved in as Satan tries to destroy us. I love this book and highlighted page after page! I gave it five stars but would have given it 10 if I could have.

Guide Review - Putting on the Armor of God - LDS Book Review

This wonderful book has helped me to truly and profoundly understand many church teachings. Of course I already knew these teachings but I saw them from a more eternal view. Steven Cramer's words helped me to strengthen my resolve to do better, to more fully apply Christ's doctrines, and to truly put on the armor of God. My testimony of prayer, scripture study, and church attendance has increased and been greatly strengthened as I've come to understand the true power of putting on the armor of God. The author states in chapter two, "Many Latter-day Saints are easy targets because they are not familiar with their enemy and are untutored in the techniques of spiritual warfare.... Many have wondered why the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon are filled with hundreds of pages recounting the wars between God's people and evil nations who sought to force them into captivity. Endless details are presented of battles, armaments, attacks and counterattacks.... These accounts are included in scripture to draw attention to the parallels in the spiritual war each of us must fight with Satan in today's modern battlegrounds, to teach the need of strategy, fortifying our weaknesses and vulnerabilities, protecting ourselves with the armor of God and other principles of spiritual warfare needed to win our battles with Satan." I HIGHLY encourage each and everyone of you who reads this review to read this amazing book, it was an answer to my prayers and I'm so thankful to have read it.
