LDS Primary Singing Time Idea - Sing Like A...

A fun way to help children really learn the words to a song.

By Rachel Woods, About.com

Preparation: Print out these signs (PDF file) submitted by Sarah Cluff or make your own.

Directions: For those times when you need to repeat a song over and over again to memorize the words. Have signs that each dictate for the children to sing the words to the song "like a baby," "with your nose plugged up," "like an opera star," "like a cowboy," and "like a drill sergeant" (the favorite of the biggest senior boys!) As we sing I hold up one sign at a time changing them randomly. They love it and they don't mind going over and over the song because they are so into the voices they don't have time to get bored with the words of a song.

Note: Obviously there can be more voices thought up and used.
