LDS Primary Singing Time Idea - Shy Guy
Helps children to sing reverently, even with the rowdy songs.

By Rachel Bruner, About.com Guide

Preparation: Make a Shy Guy sign. Preferably use card stock to make them sturdier. (Popsicle sticks work great as handles.)

Optional Clipart: People and Children (Scroll down)

Directions: Tell the children that Shy Guy will only come out to watch them sing if they sing really well and reverently. When they don't sing or are noisy Shy Guy will hide. Have the children start singing and when they do really well start to bring Shy Guy out from behind something (a podium, a poster, etc, you'll have to use your imagination with this). You can have one of the children control Shy Guy as well.

Note: You can also make Shy Guy using a small doll or toy and have it hide inside a flower pot with a hole in the bottom. Put a stick through the hole and attach the doll to it. This way you can use the stick to move Shy Guy (or Gal) up and down to hide in the flower pot if the children don't sing well.
