LDS Primary Singing Time Idea - Barn Yard Guess
A creative idea to help children learn a new song.

By , About.com Guide

Preparation: Choose which songs and animal sounds you will be singing ahead of time, or let the children decide when you pick them to come to the front.

Directions: Have a child come up to the front and either draw from a sack that has the leader's selections (like review songs for the presentation) or have them pick one of their own favorites. Then have them select a favorite animal (or select from a picture, etc) without letting the rest of the group know what they are picking. Have them sing the song in the style of that barn yard animal, for instance quacking or oinking, and have the rest of the children guess what song they are hinting about. After the children have guessed what song it is start at the beginning and have everyone sing it through properly.
