LDS Primary Singing Time Idea - Apple Pie
A fun idea that can also be used to teach the children how to conduct.

By Rachel Bruner, About.com

Preparation: A pie tin, an apron, a child sized apron (if available), a mixing spoon, and several apples (for fake apples see clipart below) with the name or pages of songs on them. Place the apples in a bag.

Directions: Put on the apron and tell the children that you need help to make an apple pie. Ask for a volunteer to choose an apple out of the bag, read the name of the song, and place the apple in the pie tin. The child then gets to lead the music using the mixing spoon while wearing the apron. Have the best (or most reverent) singer choose the next apple. When all the apples have been chosen then the class for helping you to make your apple pie.

Clipart: Print out enough apples for the number of songs you wish to practice: Red, Black, Outline

Note: This would be an easy way to introduce the different ways you can conduct.
