In 2012 the Priesthood and Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be studying the Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith (which is now available to view online). This new LDS Church manual will be used on the second and third Sunday of each month. (See the Instructions for Curriculum 2012 for more information.)
President George Albert Smith is the eighth prophet and president of this dispensation and the tenth prophet we will be studying during the third hour of church.
While browsing through the manual I found this fabulous quote by President Smith in Chapter 9, Open Your Soul to the Lord in Prayer:
"The Lord ... has explained to us how we may receive blessings through prayer. There are many people in the world who do not realize the real benefits of prayer. Prayer is a power. It has an influence that comparatively few people seem to understand. ...These are powerful words about the power of prayer. I'm looking forward to studying the words and teachings of President George Albert Smith. After looking through the new manual what quote do you like?
"... How many are there in this Church who do not know that they have the right, the absolute right, to pray to their Father in heaven, and ask Him to take from them their distress and lead them to contentment and happiness?
"It is strange that any member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints should have to be urged to say his prayers, and yet there are some people who do not pray in secret or have their family prayers. Yet unless we pray we lose the protection that prayer offers."

are the teachings of presidents of the church by: George Albert smith available to download on the iPad?
Ginny: I’m not sure as I don’t have or use an iPad, but the Church does have an ePUB version of the manual (and others) here:
http://lds.org/manual/epub?lang=eng
They also have a free Scripture app you can download/install by accessing online applications and searching for Gospel Library. (Does the iPad have this? My Kindle Fire does.)
There’s also a website called LDSScriptures.com that has a scripture app for the iPad you can purchase.
Anyone else know the answer to Ginny’s question?
