For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temples are important and sacred buildings of worship. Throughout the world the Church has 134 operating temples, with 26 more that have been announced or are currently being built.
In an article about our temples, Elder Mark E. Petersen wrote:
"These temples are different from all other buildings in the world. Beautiful structures have been erected by other peoples, of course, and some of them have been called temples, but none have either the purpose or the functions of the Mormon temples."1Why do we build temples? What is their purpose and what do we do there? Find the answers to these questions and more in the following articles about our beautiful temples:

This is a great post about LDS temples. Temples are some of the most beautiful buildings every built. I think temple work and going to the temple often is very important. There is so much to learn about the temple, it’s great that we can share what we can with others.
