The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a new website (currently in beta testing) where members around the world can volunteer their time and talents to the Church online. It's called "Helping in the Vineyard" and can be found at Vineyard.LDS.org. Members can work on projects that interest them, all they need to do is create a profile.
The Church sent out the following notice about this new site, and their need for beta testers to help perform some of the volunteer activities:
"Anyone can access a number of tasks such as updating Church publications, media tagging, document translation, and video editing. The great part about it is that it only takes about 5 minutes to complete one task. All you need is an Internet connection, computer, or web-capable phone to get started. If you're interested in helping out, simply visit Vineyard.LDS.org, login (or create an account), and start accessing the available volunteer opportunities- it's that simple!
"Before the site is officially launched to the membership of the Church, the Vineyard team is looking for individuals to help test volunteer activities for the Church publications group. Specifically, they are looking for individuals to participate in page break, paragraph matching, or paragraph comparison activities to ensure that the system is functioning appropriately. The Vineyard Team has a goal of completing over 3,000 Church publications tasks by February 4."
