A Fulness of Truth

By August 14, 2010

Follow me on:

As the word of God, the scriptures are true, and truth can be found by studying, reading, and pondering God's words. The scriptures even teach about truth and what it is. I especially like Doctrine and Covenants section 93 which is full of deeper explanations about truth:
"Truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come;

"And whatsoever is more or less than this is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning.

"The Spirit of truth is of God. I am the Spirit of truth, and John bore record of me, saying: He received a fulness of truth, yea, even of all truth;

"And no man receiveth a fulness unless he keepeth his commandments.

"He that keepeth his commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things." (D&C 93:24-28)
I love how these scriptures testify of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and that He received a "fullness of truth" (see verses 12-26). I also love how truth is intelligence and light:
"The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.

"Light and truth forsake that evil one.

"Every spirit of man was innocent in the beginning; and God having redeemed man from the fall, men became again, in their infant state, innocent before God.

"And that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth, through disobedience, from the children of men, and because of the tradition of their fathers.

"But I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth." (D&C 93:36-40)
I know God is our father and loves us. I know Jesus is the Christ and lives. I know the scriptures are true and contain the truth.
