Some people, including the media, seem to believe that Mormon women are oppressed. They may say that Mormon women are an oppressed majority within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Do Mormon women really feel this? Are Mormon Women Really Oppressed? Find out in this FAQ.

I think it’s interesting that the world sees us as oppressed. As an LDS woman who married outside the church to a man who does not believe the principles in this article, I have worked outside the house for my entire marriage. I’ve had the “opportunity” to do those things that the world thinks that enlightened women should do. And I feel more “oppressed” than I think I would have if I’d chosen a different path and had been able to choose the more traditional path of wife and mother. Heavenly Father’s way is SO much better than ours!
