Poll: Moms Do You Have a Paid Job?

By June 24, 2010

Follow me on:

In a world that practically requires both parents to work to make ends meet, I was wondering how many women with children (under age 18 who live with them) have a paid job, either at home or outside the home. Here's a poll to see how many of us mothers work to earn money to support (or help support) our families. If your children are grown and/or don't live with you any more you can still vote based on your past. For the majority of the time you raised your children did you work to earn money?

Next poll: Have you read the entire New Testament?
Previous poll: Is Mother's Day Hard for You?

What has helped you in your personal situation? What tough decisions have you had to make? Please share your story, experiences, tips, and tips with us.

I’m curious about how many comments you’ll get on this one. I am SO tempted to expound on my experience. Suffice it to say that I can live pretty well on very little. I’m older than probably most of your readers and learned to do without things. I worked part time mostly to pacify my husband, and that’s a long story. I think we’d all been been better off if I’d stayed home.

As a single parent of 4, 2 of which have disabilities I have to work full time out of necessity, but it does make things harder. Spare time is devoted to housework, homework etc and quality time is scarce for all of us.
