Poll Results: Which Tribe Are You From?

By , About.com GuideJanuary 7, 2010

Follow me on:

The results from the poll, "Which Tribe Are You From?" are quite interesting! I combined the results from the two polls and as of today (January 7, 2010) 705 votes were cast with at least one vote for each tribe of the house of Israel. The votes are as follows:
  • Ephraim = 579 = 82%
  • Manasseh = 54 = 8%
  • Benjamin = 21 = 3%
  • Judah = 20 = 3%
  • Levi = 11 = 2%
  • Dan = 6 = <1%
  • Zebulun = 5 = < 1%
  • Issachar = 3 = <1%
  • Gad = 2 = <1%
  • Reuben = 1 = <1%
  • Simeon = 1 = <1%
  • Naphtali = 1 = <1%
  • Asher = 1 = <1%
These results aren't surprising to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because we know that the tribe of Ephraim has the main responsibility to bring the gospel forth in these last days.

If you haven't voted yet, feel free to still submit your vote!

What an interestin poll! I wonder if the mayority of your respondents are from Ephraim because of access to resources that give us the opportunity to respond to your poll.

I’m from Mexico, and I know that there is a large membership in Mexico and the great majority of them are from Manases, but also, the great majority don’t have a computer or internet access or knowledge of your blog to be able to respond. I just happened run across your blog today…

I think that what your poll shows is that Ephraim is the tribe blessed with the most access to resources, since we have been called to gather the other tribes.

Thank you for all you do to make more resources available to us! Great job!

Nancy, Thanks for your comment. Yes, I thought of that too, especially as the poll and site are in English. I just forgot to mention that in the poll and results.

I knew the poll wouldn’t be accurate, of course, but a general overview of those who visit the site. It would be very interesting if an accurate poll was able to be taken world wide!

My 2nd and 3rd generation family is mostly from the tribe of Manasseh so I grew up thinking that we were the majority. Only my younger brother is from the tribe of Ephraim. My husband, half Japanese, half Caucasian is Manasseh, and if I remember correctly, all three of our children are Ephraim. Someday we’ll know all the whys and whats about this. Thanks!

You need to add the tribe of Joseph. A member of my family is from this tribe. I know that it is unusual but it is a fact.
