One site visitor, Jeff Smith, left a great comment on the post, "FAQ: What is the Doctrine and Covenants?" where he shared why he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He said:

"For me it is quite simply one of the main reasons I decided to become a Latter-Day Saint 20 years ago. It was evidence to me that the Age of God, so to speak, did not end 2000 years ago. That there are modern-day prophets who can impart to us guidance from our Father in Heaven is a knowledge that would strengthen all the churches of the world if they would only listen" (comment 1).I was born into the church, meaning my parents are members, and was actively raised with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout my life I have chosen to act upon the teachings I was raised with: prayer, scripture study, church attendance, serving a mission, holding callings, etc. A few years ago I went through a severe trial that questioned all my beliefs. It all came down to asking myself the following questions:
- Did I believe in God- that He really existed?
- Did I believe God was my Heavenly Father and that I was His daughter?
- Did I believe in Jesus Christ?
- Did I believe that Christ was my Savior and atoned for my sins?

I am a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints because having experience of other religeons I was left totally confused and saying I was an atheist. Deep down I knew I was not an atheist, one day I found myself thinking THERE IS A GOD AND IF THERE IS A GOD THEN THERE HAS TO BE HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. This seemed quite profound to me at the time. I had a talk to my friend who I knew to be a Mormon and in 30yrs this had never worried me. She was delighted when I told her of my thought and said you have hit the nail on the head and worked it out for yourself,”dont forget the HOLY SPIRIT” and you have the basis for our faith the Mormons. “Would you like to come to church with me?” Praise GOD for my friend Linda as I now have a true prophetic faith and am no longer wandering lost in the wilderness of this modern world. I know I have God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to sustain me and of course other Mormons to help me as I shall them.
Why am I a member ? Because I was givin a testamony RE: the true church of Jesus Christ. I know this as well as i know myself.
