Poll: Favorite Book of Mormon Prophet?

Tuesday June 2, 2009
There are many ancient prophets who lived on the American Continent that we learn about in The Book of Mormon. This poll asks which Book of Mormon prophet is your favorite. Why is this prophet your favorite? If your favorite isn't listed please post his name in the comments.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite Book of Mormon prophet, but one that I love reading about is Alma (not listed in the poll) who's the father of Alma the Younger. Alma was a wicked priest of King Noah, who converted to the Lord upon hearing the words of the prophet Abinadi. When the king commanded Abinadi to be put to death Alma plead for the prophet's life:
"And now it came to pass that when Abinadi had finished these sayings, that the king commanded that the priests should take him and cause that he should be put to death.

"But there was one among them whose name was Alma.... And he was a young man, and he believed the words which Abinadi had spoken, for he knew concerning the iniquity which Abinadi had testified against them; therefore he began to plead with the king that he would not be angry with Abinadi, but suffer that he might depart in peace.

"But the king was more wroth, and caused that Alma should be cast out from among them, and sent his servants after him that they might slay him" (Mosiah 17:1-3).

I can’t choose among them because I love them all! Different personalities to meet different needs.

Wwow that is a hard one it could be the brother of Jered who had so much faith that he saw Christ, who’s writings are sealed up to come forth when we are more faithful (you have to be impressed with someone like that).
or it could be Nephi the son of Helaman who’s thoughts and actions were such that Heavenly Father trusted him with great power(see helaman chapter10) who when given a task went immeadiatly out to do it (pretty impressive also). or it could be Ammon or Alma or any of the rest of the great missionairies: their love of the people, the gospel and dedication to the Lord and his work are also impressive.
Or Nephi son of Lehi his faithful statement “I will go and do the things the Lord has commanded me …..” also impressive. as I think about it, all the BOM prophets are pretty impressive to me for one reason or another; I don’t think I can choose.
