Why then do you think that the LDS church conveniently “forgot” to include all of Brigham Young’s wives in the manual that was published about his teachings for use in Sunday School? At the very minimum don’t you find that to be a betrayal of those people whose ancestor was not deemed worthy of being mentioned? And how about all the other teachings such as Blood Sacrifice that Brigham Young also taught fervently that were left out? And how about the fact that the Mountain Meadows Massacre occurred while he was prophet and president? It seems very convenient that both you and the LDS church are only able to tell at best half truths. How do you expect us to believe anything you say?

How many times has your infallible prophet been shown to be wrong about the very basic assumptions of the Book of Mormon? The archaelogy, linguistics, and genetics of your ‘great prophet’ don’t hold up to the least bit of scrutiny (check the wikipedia entry for Archaeology_and_the_Book_of_Mormon for a brief taste). Either the prophet is infallible, or he couldn’t produce copy that would pass the scrutiny of any reasonably educated adult in our society. Which is it?

It’s easy to take cheap shots at the man and his memory. Many won’t take the time and effort to learn the truth, separate fact from fiction, and isolate the real issues. But those who do will find a giant among men. And those who take it a giant step further find even more – a genuine prophet of God.
