Poll: Do you believe in God?
Thursday June 19, 2008
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe in God, the Eternal Father. We believe he is the father of our spirits, and that we are his children. We also believe many other great things about God. What do you believe? Share your vote with us in this poll or leave your thoughts in the comments.

Although the question “Do you believe in God?” is something each person needs to answer, at least for herself, there is yet a deeper question: “Do you believe God?” That is to say, do you believe what God has declared and the promises for our obedience that He has made. If your answer to these two questions are in the affirmative, then your actions and thoughts should be aligned with His will.
Happy Dae.

70%? Must be Americans. Would never get that number “Down Under.” This octogenarian has never been able to understand how an adult, able to think, can have such childish superstitious beliefs, and the LDS take that incredulity one step further.
PS 20% of Australians attend Church regularly.

To believe that God is flesh and bones, as the D&C states, is a direct contradiction of the canon of Scripture (see John 4:24; Matt. 16:16-18). This Rock and the LDS rock are different declarations.
Can they both be correct?
While Joseph Smith, Jr. was a charismatic and likable guy, an in-depth study will show that he used “eternity” to further his own personal comforts.
Scientific discoveries have proved the God of the Bible, but not the god of the ‘celestial’ kingdom. Smith’s claims are antiquated and should have gone out with the ideas of an eternal universe.
A prophet would not have said and done what he did, as a Prophet would speak for the actual Creator, therefore knowing the Truth.
Furthermore, the Mormon claim that the God of this world followed the proper laws and rules of another God to become a God himself, and further back and back into eternity is what is called an “infinite regress.” The Mormon doctrine teaches that you can too be a God (if you are a man)by following their rules.
The laws of logic would show that one cannot cross an infinity. If there was an infinity, one could not arrive here and now. Therefore, the Mormon doctrine is false.
I believe in God of the Holy Bible, but not the god of Mormonism, because he was a man before he became god.
