New LDS Church President: Thomas S. Monson
Monday February 4, 2008
After the death of President Hinckley, The new president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. He is the 16th president of the LDS Church and has called Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uchtdorf to be his counselors.President Boyd K. Packer is the new president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. A new apostle, to fill the vacancy in the Twelve Apostles, will probably be announced and sustained during April's General Conference.

President Monson is a great man and will be a wonderful Prophet for our Church.
President Hinckley was such a blessing to the members of the church. I pray everyday for our departed prophet and for inspired President Thomas Monson, and his wonderful counselors Henry Eyring and Dieter Uchdorf.
I know that our Heavenly Father has called Thomas Monson as Prophet & President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! The Holy Spirit testifies this to my heart & mind & will do so to every earnest seeker of the truth! The Book of Mormon is God’s word as is the Bible & we may draw nearer to our Saviour as we study & apply gospel principles in our daily lives. I love the truth. I love my Heavenly & His Son for the redemption granted all mankind on conditions of repentance & this is the wonderful the plan of Salvation.
I am studying the history of the Mormon faith. I cannot conceive that anyone would believe the lies of Joseph Smith with all the inconsistencies and “revelations” from God that were wrong. Obviously they were not revelations from God!
I am so thankful for the direction we have from living prophets in our modern day. The fact that God has blessed us with instruction for our time helps me appreciate even more his never ending love for us.
This is the Lord’s Church. The Holy Priesthood was restored, and it will never be taken again. This is the power and authirity of God given to man. I know that President Monson was prepared to lead the Church at this part of dispensation. He is not only a Prophet for the Church but for the whole world. Blessed are those who listen unto his words, both Saints and our non-member friends.
