New LDS Toolbar

Thursday January 10, 2008
I constantly receive requests to link to other LDS websites and although I can't link to all of them, once in awhile a great new site comes along, such as LDSToolbar.com. This new toolbar provides links to the official LDS Church websites, such as the scriptures and news, as well as link to other LDS related sites. I always use my own list of bookmark folders full of LDS links, but having an automatically updated LDS toolbar will be really useful. I just installed the LDSToolbar and am really excited to try it out. There's even a built in player for BYU Radio, for those who'd like to use it, which is very handy.

(1) Rachel Woods, About.com LDS Guide says:

A new “Resources” section has been added to the toolbar under “LDS Websitess” and lds.about.com is located there.

One thing I didn’t realize is if you click the arrow next to the search icon, you can go to the search pages for lds.org such as scriptures, gospel library, etc.

This toolbar has been found to be a security risk along with many of the toolbars built with the conduit application.

There is also one available at http://www.ldstoolbar.net. This one is available in 5 different languages and was hand-coded by the author.
