New First Presidency and Apostle

Friday October 12, 2007
Almost two months after the Passing of President James E. Faust, 2nd Counselor of the First Presidency of the LDS Church, (see Organization of the LDS Church) a new 2nd counselor and a new apostle of the quorum of the 12 apostles was announced and sustained during the Saturday session of General Conference. Henry B. Eyring, one of the 12 apostles, was called as the new 2nd counselor of the First Presidency and Quentin L. Cook was called as the new apostle.

Each of these brethren gave marvelous talks during the Sunday morning session of General Conference.

Learn more about these two new LDS Church leaders from the LDS Newsroom: Church President Names New Leaders.
